The Arlington Youth Lacrosse Club (AYLC) is a parent sponsored and administered club run for the purpose of helping boys and girls learn the sport of lacrosse in a positive environment emphasizing the development of teamwork, good sportsmanship and athlet
There are four high school lacrose programs in Arlington that many of our players will eventually play for. Our mission at AYLC is to prepare our players so they can compete at the high school level. We work wtih the high school coaches to ensure we are teaching the correct concepts so that our players can comfortably move to a high school team.
Many of our 8th graders will get the chance to play JV for Yorktown, W&L or Wakefield as 8th graders which is a great lacrosse experience and a nice way to start high school. The coaches also support 8th graders playing with AYLC to ensure they get enoiugh playing time in games. Tryouts for JV and Varsity start on February 18th. Check wtih your high school for the specific times.
Watching the high school game is very fun and can teach you many aspects of the game. We strongly recommend that our players go watch the high school girls and boys games so they can see how the game will be played at a high level.
